Mid-September — fresh field reports dated 7–9 September place active herds on both sides of the Mara River. Thousands crossed south-to-north at Crossing Point No. 4 on 9 September, while other herds crossed back toward the Masai Mara on 7 September. Movement remains two-way and rain-led.

Every position is placed by hand from guide reports, partner-lodge sightings and traveller feedback — not scraped from a ten-year average.
Honest verification
Each marker carries its verification level — GPS-confirmed, lodge-verified or community-reported — so you always know how sure we are.
Timestamped, never faked
We show exactly when each position was last updated. If the data is a few days old, we say so. We never dress up old data as live.
Our method: Updated 13 September 2026 from a seven-day review of lodge, guide, hashtag, X/Twitter, Facebook and recent-video sources. Only dated observations with a named place are published. The current reports do not include GPS coordinates or a confirmed lodge affiliation, so both fresh positions are conservatively marked Community-reported; map coordinates are regional reference points, not claimed sighting coordinates.
