Gold Reef City is an activity and amusement theme park which was built on an old mining site in Johannesburg, South Africa. This gold mine closed its operations in 1971,. The Park building got the inspiration of replica of the same building which was then in the mine area. During the months of winter (June to August), Johannesburg is extremely cold, and the Park sees fewer people as the majority of the park goers stay indoors.
