Discover Kidepo Valley National Park

Kidepo Valley is Uganda's wildest secret — a remote, spectacular national park in the far northeast that consistently ranks among Africa's most beautiful yet least visited wilderness areas. The Narus and Kidepo valleys stretch toward the Sudanese and Kenyan borders through a landscape of kopjes, savannah, and acacia woodland that evokes the Serengeti at its most pristine — but without the crowds.

Kidepo's isolation has preserved both its wildlife and its cultural integrity. The park harbours species found nowhere else in Uganda — cheetah, ostrich, striped hyena, bat-eared fox, and the greater and lesser kudu. Large lion prides patrol the valleys, and elephant herds move through the acacia woodlands with the Morungole Mountains as a dramatic backdrop.

The Karamojong people — semi-nomadic pastoralists who inhabit the surrounding plains — add a cultural dimension that enriches every visit. Their traditional homesteads, beaded adornments, and warrior ceremonies create encounters as vivid as any wildlife sighting.
