It's a road trip

The route runs roughly 300 km from Mossel Bay to Storms River. Allow at least 4–5 days so you're not driving past the best of it.

Whale season

Southern right whales visit the coast Jun–Nov, best around Hermanus and Plettenberg Bay. Cape to see them from the cliffs for free.

Rain any season

The Garden Route is green because it rains year-round. Pack a light waterproof and plan indoor options like Cango Caves.

Book activities ahead

Fuel up in towns
