Five Days of Mokoro, Boat & Big Game in the Okavango
A pure, immersive five-day Okavango Delta safari built around the Delta's two great pleasures — the serenity of the water and the thrill of its big game. From a single, beautifully situated camp you glide by mokoro, cruise the channels and drive the floodplains in search of lion, leopard and wild dog, all in Botswana's signature low-density exclusivity.
It delivers the heart of the Delta experience without a multi-camp itinerary — superb guiding, water and land activities and elegant tented suites, personally hosted by Private Tours Cape Town.
Ideal for couples, photographers and wildlife lovers who want a deep, exclusive Delta experience from one outstanding camp.
The Beyond Africa Difference
We don't just visit the Okavango. We help you float through its arteries for five days.
Water safaris at dawn, walking safaris at midday, and evenings when the lechwe wade through the floodplains and the sun turns everything gold.
Glide the channels and cruise the lagoons of the world's greatest wetland
Lion, leopard and endangered wild dog across the floodplains
Herds drinking and bathing in the Delta's clear waters
Over 400 species, from fish eagles to carmine bee-eaters
Raised, light-filled suites with private decks over the floodplain
Toast the sunset from the water as hippos grunt in the channels
A light-aircraft flight from Maun sweeps you over the Delta's glittering channels to a remote airstrip and your camp. An afternoon water activity introduces you to the serenity of this water-world.

Best time to travel: May–October (peak flood & game). We tailor lodges and timing to the season for the very finest experience.
Essential guidance for your journey
The Delta floods May–Sept (winter dry season). High water = more mokoro, less driving. Low water (Oct–April) = more game drives, walking safaris.
The Okavango's islands are safe for walking safaris. Expect lechwe, impala, giraffe and serious birdlife — less Big Five than Kruger.
Moremi and Khwai areas hold lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah. Your camp location determines sighting frequency.
Over 400 species, including African skimmer, Pel's fishing owl and malachite kingfisher. Bring binoculars and a field guide.
May–August mornings can be near-freezing on a mokoro or boat. Lodges provide blankets; layer up with fleece and windproof.
Okavango water is crystal-clear and safe to drink after boiling or filtering. Lodges provide bottled water; bring a reusable bottle.
The full Delta experience — mokoro, boats and game drives — without constant moving.
Botswana's model means few other guests and a true wilderness feel.
