Four Days & a Once-in-a-Lifetime Hour with Mountain Gorillas
A focused four-day adventure built around the world's most moving wildlife encounter — trekking the endangered mountain gorillas of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. With a gorilla permit included and time to explore the rainforest and its communities, it's the most accessible way to look a silverback in the eye.
Staying at a comfortable forest-edge lodge with expert guiding, this itinerary is ideal as a standalone gorilla expedition or as a powerful add-on to an East African safari.
For travellers who want the unforgettable experience of trekking mountain gorillas without a longer commitment.

Essential guidance for your journey
Uganda gorilla permits are $700 USD (vs $1,500 in Rwanda). One hour with the gorillas — the most humbling 60 minutes of your life.
Bwindi is a rainforest. Bring waterproof boots, rain jacket, gloves and a dry bag for cameras and phones.
Hire a porter ($15–20 tip) to carry your pack and steady you on slippery slopes. It's also direct community support.
Flash is prohibited. Shoot at ISO 1600–3200, f/2.8–4.0, and pray for a forest clearing with decent light.
Bwindi sits at 1,160–2,600m. Treks range 1–6 hours. Moderate fitness is enough; prepare with cardio and hill walks.
Lodges near Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors offer different trail access. We place you strategically.
