Why Victoria Falls Safari Suites
On the same hilltop estate as the well-known Victoria Falls Safari Lodge sits the most spacious address of the whole Collection: the Victoria Falls Safari Suites. These are the residential, apartment-style homes of the estate, built for travellers who want more than a room — families with children, groups of friends and multi-generational parties who need space to spread out while keeping everyone under one roof, four kilometres from the Falls.
Where the adults-focused Victoria Falls Safari Club keeps to couples and the larger Victoria Falls Safari Lodge runs to 72 hotel-style rooms, the Suites take a different path entirely. There are only six of them, each a split-level home with its own bedrooms, lounge, patio and study, and each welcomes children of any age. For a family that wants the estate's position above the waterhole with the comfort of a private residence, this is the stay to book.
The Suites — Space & Layout
The six suites split into four two-bedroom and two three-bedroom homes, all arranged over two levels. Upstairs is the Master Gallery Bedroom, en-suite with a rainfall shower and opening onto a private balcony with a view across the plain. Downstairs sits a second en-suite bedroom with both a bath and a shower, and the three-bedroom suites add a further downstairs en-suite bedroom — room enough for six adults and a child.
At the centre of each home is an open-plan lounge with sliding glass doors onto a furnished patio that seats six to eight, plus a separate study with a sofa bed for a younger child. Air-conditioning and ceiling fans, a 46-inch satellite television, a digital safe and a courtesy counter with a Nespresso machine, minibar and tea and coffee make each suite self-sufficient. The counter is stocked for easy in-suite refreshments rather than full cooking — it is a comfortable, residential base, not a self-catering apartment.

Family-Friendly by Design
The Suites are the one address on the estate built squarely around families. Children of all ages are welcome — a two-bedroom suite takes up to four adults and one child under twelve, a three-bedroom suite up to six adults and one child under twelve — and the study's sofa bed gives a younger child a space of their own without a separate room. Under-threes stay free on breakfast, children aged three to eleven pay half the rate, and twelve and over are charged as adults.
Babysitting can be arranged on advance notice, and the estate's two-tiered swimming pool, gentle nature trails and the daily Vulture Culture feeding give children plenty to fill a day between activities. One practical note for multi-generational groups: the suites are split-level and the property has no elevators, so a ground-floor-only party should mention mobility needs when booking so we can place them well.

Inclusions & Your Safari Host
The Suites are sold on a bed-and-breakfast basis, with breakfast taken at the open-sided MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant at the main lodge. Each stay begins with a private check-in at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and the services of a dedicated Safari Host or Hostess who looks after the party throughout — booking activities, arranging dining and smoothing the logistics that matter most when you are travelling with children.
The minibar is restocked daily with house wine, local beer, soft drinks and water, and the courtesy counter keeps Nespresso coffee and teas on hand. A complimentary shuttle runs to the town, the craft markets and the rainforest, a courtesy golf cart moves guests around the property, and Wi-Fi is included throughout. It is a low-friction base that leaves a family free to settle in rather than spend the holiday organising it.
The Estate, Wildlife & Dining
Suite guests share the full Victoria Falls Safari Collection estate, which turns a spacious home into a proper safari base. The open-sided MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant, set high over the waterhole, serves à la carte lunch and dinner against a backdrop of game on the plain, and the sunset Buffalo Bar runs out onto a deck above the water for a cold Zambezi lager at dusk. The estate's man-made waterhole, floodlit after dark, draws elephant, buffalo, kudu, giraffe and warthog through the day and into the evening, heaviest in the dry months.
A short walk across the estate is the Boma — Dinner & Drum Show, a four-course feast of local game and traditional dishes served under the stars with Ndebele song, a sangoma, face painting and an interactive drumming session that children take to at once. By day, the Vulture Culture conservation feeding at 1pm brings threatened white-backed and hooded vultures to a shaded deck, with a guide briefing on the birds. A spa, a two-tiered pool, a fitness centre, the Siduli hide and nature trails round out the estate — enough to keep a family busy for days without leaving the hilltop.

Getting to the Falls
Like the rest of the estate, the Suites trade a few minutes' drive for their hilltop view. They sit about four kilometres from the Falls and the town centre, bridged by a complimentary scheduled shuttle that runs through the day to the town, the markets and the rainforest entrance. In practice families spend mornings and evenings on the patio with the wildlife and take the shuttle in for the Falls and the shops.
Every activity is arranged through your Safari Host — sunset cruises on the Zambezi, game drives, the helicopter Flight of Angels, white-water rafting for older children and the walk across the Victoria Falls Bridge. Victoria Falls Airport is roughly twenty minutes away by road, which makes the Suites a natural first or last stop on a wider family journey through Hwange, Chobe or the Zambezi.
Best Time to Visit
The Suites are open year-round, and the estate's waterhole changes character with the seasons. The dry months of May to October are the classic window: warm days, cool nights and the heaviest game traffic as animals concentrate on the water — an easy season for families, with low malaria risk and plains game in constant view. February to May is peak flow for the Falls themselves, when the spray is at its most powerful. The green season from November to March is lush and quiet, with fine birding, dramatic afternoon skies and softer rates. For a family holiday, the dry-season school breaks give the best mix of reliable weather and a busy waterhole, while the green season rewards those who can travel outside the crowds.
