The Tents & Setting
Seven spacious tented suites face the Zambezi, each raised on a wooden platform with floor-to-ceiling mesh windows, a private deck and an en-suite bathroom featuring indoor and outdoor showers. The design is classic safari — canvas, dark timber and minimalist elegance. The main area is a series of connected decks: lounge, bar, dining space and a firepit that stretches toward the river.
The position at the Sapi-Zambezi confluence creates a natural wildlife corridor, and guests often watch elephant, buffalo and antelope from the comfort of their suite.
Wildlife & Activities
Walking safaris are the soul of Mana Pools, and Chikwenya's guides are among the best — leading foot safaris through the riverine belt, tracking lion, elephant and wild dog. Game drives explore the private concession and the national park, while boat cruises drift past hippo pods, crocodiles and the abundant birdlife of the Zambezi. Catch-and-release fishing is also available.

Best Time to Visit
April to October is prime — the dry season concentrates wildlife along the rivers, and the walking is exceptional. May to July offers cool, clear mornings; August to October is peak game-viewing with hotter, drier conditions. The camp closes during the November–March rains.
