The Northern Cape is South Africa's last great frontier—an immensity of red dunes, silver grass, and skies so clear the Milky Way casts shadows. To the north, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park—shared with Botswana—delivers the classic Kalahari spectacle of predators strung along ancient dry riverbeds. The Augrabies Falls thunder through a granite gorge, and in spring the Namaqualand plains erupt into one of earth's greatest wildflower displays.
