Welcome to Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden
All thanks to Harold Pearson who made it possible for Kirstenbosch to be what it is today. It was only1 in 913 after many years of hard work that the African leading botanical garden was established to its current status to preserve South Africa's unique flora and indigenous plants. With over 7 000 species from Southern Africa in cultivation today, the garden forms the perfect display of fynbos (fine bush) and forest that is easily explored and enjoyed by locals and tourists via a number of walks and trails. The 528-hectare Kirstenbosch falls under the Cape Floristic Region, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-see on your Cape Town bucket list

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is a place to be in Cape Town on those beautiful summer evenings when there are free live concerts performed by top South African and international artists. Just pack a few blankets and a picnic basket and join hundreds of locals on the beautiful lawn of the garden. Other places of interest will be the Constantia wine route which very close to the garden for wine and food tasting. These include but not limited to Beau Constantia wine estates, Klein Constantia, Groot Constantia, Constantia Glen, etc...
When To Go?
Kirstenbosch, African leading botanical garden is a destination of all seasons as there are always flowers and interesting plants to be seen and every season has its own characteristics, however, to see the fynbos at their best and the maximum number of plants in flower, the best time to visit is in early spring and the beginning of summer (August-November).
